a digital pillbox

Check what’s due today, and what you’ve taken.

Describe a medication the way you would say it out loud: one pill every evening, for four weeks. protcul turns that into today’s doses and keeps a record of what you took. It does not send reminders.

how it works

You describe the course. protcul works out the days.

01

Add a protocol

A protocol is the course as your prescriber described it: the medication, how often, and for how long. Each one has one or more intakes, each a quantity and a time of day, like morning or with lunch.

02

Open Today

protcul works out the doses for the day and lists them in order. Today is where the app opens.

03

Mark it taken

One action records that you took a dose, or deliberately skipped it. The same action undoes it. You can fill in a past day the same way.

where your data lives

Your medication data stays on this device.

Guest by default

The complete app works without an account. Your data lives in this browser, on this device, and nowhere else. It is stored unencrypted there, so your device login and disk encryption are the protection boundary; an export is your backup.

No reminders, no notifications

protcul is a pillbox you check, not one that alerts you. There are no notifications and no reminders of any kind. Do not rely on it to prompt you to take medication.

Not medical advice

protcul has no drug database, no interaction warnings, and no dosage validation. It schedules exactly what you enter, verbatim. Follow your prescriber and the medication label; where they and protcul disagree, they are right.

No account required

Guest mode is the default and stays complete on its own. An account exists only to sync across your devices, and what reaches us is encrypted on your device first; we cannot read it, and we cannot recover your passphrase if you lose it. The changelog lists exactly what the current release includes.

the principles

What protcul is, and what it is not.

Private
No analytics, no tracking, and no third-party scripts on any page. Nothing here measures how you use protcul.
Local-first
Guest use is the default path. After the first load the pillbox keeps working with no network connection at all.
Plain language
Entering a protocol should feel like saying the sentence out loud: two drops with lunch, every day for a month.
Minimal
One job, done well. Protocols in, today’s doses out, and a record of what you took.
Calm
No streaks, no badges, no guilt. When everything is marked, the day is simply done.
Free
No tiers, no subscriptions, and no upsell. protcul has no payment integration at all.

Fill your first compartment.

No account, and no setup beyond your first protocol. It works offline, and nothing leaves this browser.
